Buying Used Dell Laptops, PC’s and Servers on eBay – How to Succeed
Two years ago I needed a way to upgrade PCs and laptops in my company without spending more money. New Dell laptops were great but expensive and over the years we have had many Latitude C series parts accumulated. The C series ran from the CPX C610 C640 C400 C600 and tested before they became their new D line of Latitude notebooks published. The docks, drives and many other parts are used in each of these models, so we decided to use the benefits of this purchase and Dell notebooks. eBay was where these sources. Over the years I learned some valuable things about buying these expensive products. Here are some tips and some recommendations of sellers I’ve found to be very reliable.
Do you know what you buy.
Do not just go through the design and specifications of the machine. I see two types of units there. Those who use Complete PC units, as it will be sold. Also refurbished units that have no serial number on the bottom or in the BIOS. These units may have very good prices, and so far I’ve found to get them all in very good condition. The problem is that without the serial number that can withstand even Dell technology and, obviously, there is no guarantee. If it does, which is the right of these are big sellers. For my use in my business, just not worth the appearance of a model without serial number. I’m spending it at the moment.
Always Pay Pal or any other that you can use a credit card.
Even if you have a Paypal credit card and completed by the controversy over the protection of your credit card company. I have two cases where the seller did not send my laptop and had the charge with my credit card company disputes. In both cases, I received a credit from my company and had no trouble from Paypal. Before a formal event of a dispute with Paypal, since they require that before a fee. I’m not sure what the consequences would seem to be better, but, as if you try to use your system.
Buy a regular basis? Try a relationship with a few reputable sellers.
After the business with a handful of vendors that I trust now completely bypass eBay. The sellers love the money you save on expenses, and may often have to hunt as new Latitude laptops. Some even customize the laptop to your specifications.
Check the sellers feedback.
Search to see that the seller regularly sells Dell devices. This tells you two things. One of the things that have a reputable buyer and backgrounds of people who bought the same item is needed, and were happy. The other thing is that if you positive feedback with regard to non-similar equipment you can assume that they have no spare parts or service capability. If you see a lot of revenue for similar devices, you can be sure that if you have a problem, and notify them immediately that will probably be able to fix your laptop.
Ask about the warranty or guarantee of the transfer of support.
If you’re lucky, the device you purchase come with some warranty left from Dell. Dell is not entitled to the guarantee on your behalf if you have the original owner’s name or address. If you can find a buyer who is willing to offer only to find nothing! Note this is not common at all. You can search on a unit of Dell warranty service, but will not transfer ownership to your name.
Acquisition server? Look for Dell refurbished units with a warranty.
I do not know how it works, but there are many resellers of Dell servers that are new or reconditioned Dell. This is with the Dell warranty and are transferable. When the server comes in its original Dell box still sealed. The price can not be lost, and have never had a problem. My suspicion is that those who renewed right connections, Dell sells more units than the volume of production and prices far below you would be in place at Dell Outlet. P>
